INSURGENT KAYAKS

Since 2006, we have been organizing insurgent kayak trips aimed at commemorating the events of August 1944.
The main idea behind these trips is to bring history closer to young people, as well as to offer a unique way of honoring one of the most important events in the 20th-century history of Warsaw and Poland.

The trips, titled "Down the Vistula Through the Unconquered City," attract great interest. The entire initiative includes many attractions. As part of the project, participants have the opportunity not only to paddle down the Vistula River in memory of the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising but also to meet and talk with them during a live history lesson.

A regular highlight of the trip is the kayak parade near the Old Town, held at the symbolic “W” hour. Another attraction is the grand insurgent race for the 1944 Anchor. All of this is accompanied by melodies and insurgent songs that once brought courage during those difficult times.
